Koala Adaptations Hey, this is all about how I am awesome! By Hailey Clayton
My cheeks are so chubby! Koalas eat eucalyptus leaves. These leaves are poisonous to many other animals, but not to koalas. Oh my! Quit staring at me.
Koalas may look soft and cuddly, but under their fur they have a lot of muscle. They need it for hanging onto trees and climbing all night. Am I strong or what?! Like trapeze artists in a circus, much of their muscle is concentrated in their arms and shoulders.
Koalas have gray fur to hide them from predators and to keep them warm. Nappy time!
Let’s do this thing! Interesting Facts! Where’s my child? Koalas are related to the wombat and the kangaroo. I have never had this much fun! Koalas are not really bears, they are marsupials. They are called marsupials because they have their babies in a pouch.
When baby koalas get too big to fit into the pouch, their mothers start carrying them on their backs. By this time the hands and feet of the baby are already very strong. They are able to hold on to their mothers with a very tight grip. Come on Mommy, faster! I’m not getting any younger back here.

The End I almost forgot one of the koalas’ predators is a fox. That fox can’t catch me because I am awesome! Phooey!
