Love (Passionata) Where there is life, there is love. This heart being tied with a ribbon represents the love and compassion shared between one another with Winston and Julia.
First Quote: • “I Love You” • Page#108 • This simple quote shows the love Julia immediately felt for Winston without even getting to know his personality, she fell in love with him and he also felt the exact same way for Julia. She even risked her life by hiding the message with him through the telescreen.
Second Quote: • “He hated her, because she was young and pretty and sexless, because he wanted to go to bed with her and would never do so” • Page #115 • Winston had almost an immediate animal attraction to Julia just because of her sheer beauty and the way she carried herself, he felt lust and passion, and even maybe commitment to Julia.
Third Quote: • “ Perhaps one did want to be loved so much as to be understood.” • Page # 252 • This quote redefines the love that Winston and Julia share for each other, in their complete Utopia where there is no love, Winston and Julia have managed to make there own perfect little Euphoria.
Alternate Ending • As Winston is released from The Ministry of Love, he has completely been changed. His whole thought process is different and he himself is a different person. He is recovering from the after effects of what had happened to him at the ministry and he sees Julia across from the chestnut tree café, she eyes him as well and he goes and sits over to her. No words are spoken, and only a tear is shot down from Julia’s eye, they hold hands and both begin to walk down to there very own special place where they first met in the woods, never speaking about what happened at the ministry of love.
