Acts 6:1-7 In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. 2 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.

We will turn this responsibility over to them 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word." 5 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.

  15. II. Change the way we do Church. • Raise up an army of purpose-driven people who have faith to do the impossible, freed from trying to be who they aren’t and released to be the fullest, best expression of who God created them to be.

  16. II. Change the way we do Church. • Equip people to perform missions (both domestic and foreign), to launch business ventures and to carry out any other activity that their purpose dictates and faith allows.

  18. II. Change the way we do Church. • Help leaders and governing bodies move from attitudes of ownership to attitudes of servant-leadership and stewardship.

  19. II. Change the way we do Church. • Develop services, Sunday schools, kids church, youth meetings and even committee meetings that people wantto attend because there is a spirit of excellence and the unexpected.

  20. II. Change the way we do Church. • Move from fads, copycat programs, and trite and phony rituals, traditions and doctrines to innovative initiatives in the Spirit of (but exceeding the results of) the early church.
