  1. A Novel Writing Club

  2. Thanks for being interested in Scribbleblots! • This Powerpoint will give you basic information on Scribbleblots • The co-presidents (Melissa Magner, Michelle Cen, and Ashley Chen) are still planning the club, so what’s stated in this Powerpoint isn’t final • If Scribbleblots garners enough interest it will be created next fall at Saratoga High School • For the club’s creation 15-20 potential members are needed. If you know anyone who might be interested, feel free to direct them to this website!

  3. What is Scribbleblots? • A club that will guide you toward writing fiction novels • The aim is to write and revise a fiction novel within the school year • It’s meant to be fun as well as enriching. This isn’t a strict club. Relax

  4. Membership Requirements • 1st requirement: You are passionate about novel-writing • In other words, you want to learn more about novel-writing. You know you will work on your novel for months (it does NOT mean you have to be “good” at writing) • 2nd requirement: You are willing to start a new novel • You might be already working on a novel or want feedback on a completed one. It will have to be introduced later

  5. Meetings • Scribbleblots will meet weekly at lunch • To be determined: meeting day and location • Each meeting includes a lesson about writing your novel • You may be asked to share your work during meetings. Remember, everyone is there to help you write a successful novel!

  6. Making Progress in your Novel • Outside of meetings you are expected to work on your novel • Everyone in Scribbleblots should be interested in working on their novel in their own time. If working alone on it feels too much like homework, ask yourself if you want to be in Scribbleblots

  7. Scribbleblots Website and Forum • The Scribbleblots website (scribbleblots.wordpress.com) is public and will have lesson summaries, club updates, individual writing profiles (optional), and club contact information • The Scribbleblots forum (scribbleblots.proboards.com) is private; only members have access to it. There, people can exchange manuscripts, get critiques, receive writing help/support, and chat

  8. Want to join Scribbleblots? • Great! Please see one of the co-presidents (Melissa Magner, Ashley Chen, or Michelle Cen) and tell them you’re interested. You may also email: scribbleblots@gmail.com Thank you for your interest!
