  2. Genre • Photo Essay - A photo essay is an article or book composed mostly of photographs to express a theme or topic.

  3. Strategy • Analyze Text Structure -Authors of nonfiction organize their texts in various ways. The author of an essay can help readers understand the topic by presenting the information in a particular structure.

  4. Skill • You can help yourself understand an informative essay by identifying the sequence of events.

  5. Grammar • Possessive Pronouns -A possessive pronoun takes the place of a possessive noun. It shows who or what owns something. -Some possessive pronouns are used before nouns (my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their) -Some possessive pronouns can stand alone (mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, yours, theirs)

  6. Examples • The houses in her village are small. • Robert and I went there for our vacation last winter. • That is your book, but this one is mine. • The award is hers.
