Introducing Chris Carson Christopher Houstin “Kit’’ Carson was born on December 24, 1809 in Madison County Kentucky.
Childhood • Carson left home at the age of 16 and became a mountain man trapper in the West. He explored the west to California and north the Rocky Mountains. Chris as a teenager.
Chris’s Accomplishments • Carson was in the Mexican-American War. He celebrated for his rescue mission after the Battle of San Pasqual and his coast to coast journey from California to deliver news of the war to the U.S. government in Washington D.C.. Sorry no picture.
Facts Carson served in the Union Army, People called him “Kit’’, And he was a general of the army.
Quote “Each of us, having received several hundred dollars, we passed the time gloriosly, spending our money freely never thinking that our lives were risked gaining it.’’ “In camp was a found book, the first of the kind I had ever seen, in which I was made a great hero, slaying Indians by the hundreds.’’
Death Chris died on May,23, 1868 at the age of 58, in Fort Lyon, Colorado.
