  2. Miami Beach, Florida • 7.1 square mile barrier island surrounded by Biscayne bay and the Atlantic Ocean. • We serve approximately 7.5 million tourists per year. • Normal population is 90,000 to 92,000.

  3. Initial Call • Rescue 1 dispatched to a suspected food poisoning at approx 22:00. • Upon arrival at the scene – a wrong address had been given. • Hotel/Timeshare was a 1930-40 Art Deco building recently renovated yet still partly under construction.

  4. Triage of Patients • Approximately 60 guests triaged after initial transport of first two guests. • Additional 14 people were transported to the hospital for ABG’s and oxygen therapy. • 4 children under the age of 12 transported with their parents.

  5. Lessons Learned • Stay with Gut instinct. • Some of the crews stated only paint fumes smelled. • All Agencies along with the hospital enjoy a good working relationship. The results of this call continued to make that relationship stronger.
