VIS IN SUDAN ■ Since July 2006 in Khartoum ■ Fully participatory process with the partners (Don Bosco, FMA, Comboni, etc.) ■ DBN “Country Strategy Paper for Sudan 2007-11” ■ An aid to write grant proposals ■ A guide for implementation ■ A tool for M&E ■ 11 detailed LF for interventions in 3 zones (Khartoum, Darfur and South)

  8. Y.E.S Project OVERALL GOAL Contributing to the process of poverty reduction and socio-economic exclusion of IDPs in Khartoum State, and, where applicable, to contribute to the process of the return of skilled manpower for the sustainable economic development of Southern Sudan

Y.E.S Project SPECIFIC GOAL To improve youth IDP livelihood in Khartoum state trough the provision of quality employment-oriented vocational training by enhancing the capacity and the standards of the St. Joseph’s Vocational Training Centre (SJVTC) CAPACITY STANDARDS Strengthening/ Upgrading SJVTC (capacity building) More IDPs gaining access to SJVTC (yet services provided and improved)

Capacity Building for trainers TRAINING of TRAINERS Visiting expert/consultant of VT each year >> Plan of action for teacher’s training and upgrading workshops Then in each department 2 in-service workshops per year (curricula, handbooks, etc.) Summer course (Ministry of Labour and Manpower) Visiting expert Experts coming for a day Less experienced trainers

  16. 6. Capacity building of SJVTC CB for SJVTC Organize 3 meetings with DBVTCs in Sudan ****** Which could become an open forum open to NGOs working in VT Twinning with Kenya, Egypt, Italy and India (volunteers, visiting experts, etc.)
