TheSustainable Energy Europe Campaign is an initiative of the Directorate General Energy and Transport of the European Commission in the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme. Sustainable Energy Europe was launched in 2005 for an initial period of 3 years. Based on its success, the Campaign will continue at least until 2010. Sustainable Energy Europe is a communication platform. The main goal is to bring promotional support and increase the visibility of environmentally-friendly projects at the EU level. Four specific fields: - Energy Efficiency - Renewable Energy Sources - Clean Transport - Bio-fuels
Main goal: To identify, promote and spread best-practices in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, clean transport and bio-fuels in all EU-27. Other Goals: To raise the awareness of decision-makers and general public. To stimulate the necessary trends towards an increase in private investment in sustainable energy technologies. To contribute to the EU energy policy targets by boosting energy efficiency and saving, securing European energy supplies and combating climate change.
