LETTERS • WHERE DID THE LETTER COME FROM? • Personal Business – came from a person who is NOT at work • Business – came from a person who is writing from a business or company • Margins are 2” TOP and 1” LEFT, RIGHT, BOTTOM • Letterhead is the printed information instead of typing the return address • Paragraphs are SS • DS between
REPORTS • Page number at top right side of page • Page header on first page • Title is ALL CAPS, centered and bold • Indent the paragraphs • Paragraphs are DS • Margins are 1 inch on all four sides
TABLES • Vertical = COLUMNS • Horizontal = ROWS • Title is ALL CAPS, centered, and bold • Column headings are centered and bold • Words are on the left side (LEFT ALIGNED) • Numbers are on the right side (RIGHT ALIGNED)
TIPS TO REMEMBER • When in TROUBLE, just choose DOUBLE • Margins are always 1” on the Left, Right, and Bottom • WITHIN a paragraph is always SS except in a report • There are only two places to ever do a QS • After the dateline of a letter • After the complimentary closing of a letter • It’s multiple choice…so get rid of the wrong answers first!
