Summary • Maternal mortality in Miami-Dade remained at higher levels than Florida • Mortality rate increased with maternal age in all racial/ethnic groups • 64% of maternal deaths occurred in women living in areas with lower family income • Risk of Maternal mortality among Haitian and African American women was 5 and 4 times that of Hispanic women • These results highlight the need of a multidisciplinary approach to address this problem in Miami-Dade
