ACL Tear: ORTHOPEDIC TREATMENT ACL or anterior cruciate ligament is one of the four major ligaments presents in the knee. It connects the knee joint to tibia (shinbone) and femur (thighbone). The ligament supports tibia and prevents it from being excessively stretched. It also provides rotational stability to the knee. A sudden blow or twist to the knee may lead to a Torn ACL. It is a common condition in athletes involved in contact sports like football, rugby, hockey etc. ACL Tear is more common in females.
