  1. Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding~Program for FY2014/2015~ Program for Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding commissioned by MOFA • Launched in 2007 to make use of Asian experiences and expertise for peacebuilding around the world • 256 participants over the past 7 years (133 Japanese and 123 Asians) • Graduates are engaged in peacebuilding in over 40 countries (ex. South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Guinea-Bissau, Timor-Leste, etc.) Primary Course FY2014/2015 • Participants :15 Japanese and another 15 participants from other countries(Asia, Middle East, Africa) • Expanded to include participants from African countries for FY2014/2015 • Coursework : Lectures and problem-solving workshops in Japan (All sessions will be conducted in English) • Duration: approximately 6 weeks (January 23, 2015-February 27 (March 3 (optional)), 2015)1 • Qualifications: • The strong will to work for peacebuilding in the future • At least two years of work experience in the peacebuilding-related fields (such as law, public administration, education, public health, logistic support [including procurement, IT, air control, media]) • A university degree or equivalent • Aged 25 and older to under 40 • English proficiency to score more than 90 on TOEFL iBT, 900 on TOEIC, or 6.5 on IELTS, or equivalent • Health condition suitable for participation in the program 1All Japanese participants will be obliged to participate in the Overseas Assignment after the Coursework in Japan. Participants from other countries will not be offered an Overseas Assignment associated with this course this year.
