Hybridization Theory. Says that atoms involved in the formation of covalently bonded molecules will undergo structural changes in their valence level atomic orbital. They will convert their atomic orbital into a new set of orbital called Hybrid Orbital .

  1. Hybridization Theory • Says that atoms involved in the formation of covalently bonded molecules will undergo structural changes in their valence level atomic orbital. • They will convert their atomic orbital into a new set of orbital called Hybrid Orbital.

  2. Hybridization Theory • The Hybrid Orbital will have some characteristics of the original atomic orbital, but differ somewhat in their geometric configurations. • Hybridization Theory is a variation of Molecular Orbital Theory.

  3. HYBRIDIZATION Is the process of combining two or more atomic orbital to create new orbital, called hybrids.

  4. HYBRID ORBITAL An orbital produced from the combination of two or more nonequivalent orbitals of an atom.
