Highway Advisory Committee (HAC) • The Highway Advisory Commission was created to advise the Board of County Commissioners in matters involving policy and philosophy related to El Paso County transportation operations and activities. • The Highway Advisory Commission member has the responsibility to review and comment on items and proposals specifically related to issues concerning the County's policies and philosophy on the management and operation of the Public Services Department's transportation operations and activities, and to make recommendations to the Director of Public Services and/or the Board of County Commissioners. • Jeremy Milliman, District 1 (Tri-Lakes, USAFA and Black Forest) – Term expires in February 2014

Volunteers Needed for Highway Advisory Commission • The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve as a Commissioner District 1 representative or Associate member to the Highway Advisory Commission. Commissioner District 1 includes the northwest portion of the county north of the US Air Force Academy, including the areas of Monument, Palmer Lake and Black Forest. Applications for the open positions are due by January 24, 2014. • The Highway Advisory Commission considers highway and road needs throughout the county, and assists with establishing the construction priorities and corresponding budget for the county’s annual transportation project plan. It consists of nine regular members and three associate members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Regular members serve for three-year terms. • The volunteer application is located at www.elpasoco.com and can be accessed by clicking on the “Volunteer Boards” link.
