Construction Industry3-Step Career Ladder Beginning Construction worker Advanced Skill Trades Given the 21 construction trades, the best use of college resources would be to offer training in those with the most jobs: carpenters, electricians, painters, dry wall & ceiling tile installers, and plumbers/pipelayers. These represent over 70,000 jobs (55%) of the sector’s skilled jobs in 2011. Management/Supervisory Training

Non-Union Associations Associated Builders & Contractors (So Cal chapter) ABC So-Cal only offers fully accredited, state approved apprenticeship training programs in Electricians & Plumbers Associated General Contractors (Riverside Office) AGC accepts apprenticeship applications for Carpenters, Cement Masons, Drywall lathers, Drywall finishers, Heavy equipment operators, Painters, and Laborers. California Building Industries Association Offers educational programs and certifications to member employers. Interested/willing to partner with CCCs to provide Contract Ed courses using NAHB’s curriculum.
