SUCCESS? “ we just see Africa on the telly and they always look poor” “yeh, like comic relief!” “Not all of Africa is poor” “I’d be really annoyed if they all thought we lived in the same houses and liked the same things!” “I remember what stereotype means – its when people think you are a certain way and like certain things just because your from a certain country …” “you can’t tell where someone is from just by looking at them!”
Evaluation I like discussing things. It makes me think about things. Its important not to stereotype people. I always thought people in Africa were poor! We need to understand more about people around the world. Children were engaged and enjoyed speaking activities. They left the lesson buzzing and continued discussions outside of the room. They remembered terminology and demonstrated a wonderful understanding. It left me feeling very positive!
