Public Transport (cont.) • Economical impact • Reduces the cost of doing business • Allows people to access job opportunities • Interchanges act as focus points for economic activity • Safe public transport reduces possibility of accidents • Non-motorised transport promotes a healthy lifestyle, thereby reducing strain on health system • Technical impact • Improved services ito frequency, reliability, efficiency and accessibility • Improved vehicles – eg low floor to promote universal access
