Timeline • August 15, 2010 – CDE releases SPF and DPF with initial school plans and initial accreditation categories. • October 15, 2010 – District submits accreditation category for schools and any additional evidence as applicable. • November 15, 2010 – CDE finalizes district accreditation and State Board approves school plan types. • January 15, 2011 – District submits Priority Improvement and Turnaround Plans, and any required for federal review. • April 15, 2011 – District submits Improvement and Performance Plans.

Review Process: Requests to Reconsider • Notify CDE that you will be submitting a request • Share your district’s framework or evidence base for the request • CDE reviews district’s framework or evidence base • Iterative process of providing and reviewing data to determine if there is compelling evidence that the district and/or school should be in a different category • CDE makes final determination and works with district to prepare materials for public posting

Multi-level schools • Option 1: • Multi-level schools receive multiple reports, with one for each level (E, M, H) • School writes a single plan using the lowest plan type assignment OR school writes one plan for each school’s specific plan assignment • Option 2 • Multi-level schools receive a single report, with one roll-up for the entire school. • School writes a single plan using the combined plan type assignment
Multi-level schools • Phone call or e-mail from Somoh, John Condie, or Jhon Penn • Indicate preference by survey • CDE will re-run reports with new roll-up, if selected, but not until the final run (Nov)
Special cases • New schools • Default to Performance, Accredited • K-2s • Submit plan type and accreditation category • AECs • Meeting on September 30, 10 am – 12 pm, CDE Board Room • Small districts • Case-by-case; confirm with your Performance Mgr
