How to further cooperate on ENVIRONMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Howtofurthercooperate on ENVIRONMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE A mapping of pilot activities of current CE projects conducted by the participants allowed the exchange of knowledge and of experiences intensifying the on-going cooperation on the topic of environmental risk management and climate change. In addition, a mind mapping exercise was carried out within smaller working groups focussing on future cooperationsand potentials for the following sub-topics: Biodiversity Climate change Land use The following future potentials for territorial cooperation in those fields were identified and discussed by the participants which include among others: Climate change adaptation measures – shift from sectoral to horizontal approaches Prevention and management of natural and man made risks as a prerequisite for socio-economic development Biodiversity as important natural resource to be both protected and exploited Data management and exchange, harmonisation of methods and tools More efficient coordination of efforts and using synergies with other funds and programmes Mainstreaming of achievements to the policy level and incorporation into new EU and national environmental policies ENVIRONMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE
