  2. EMPOWERED WOMANSONNY CARROLL • She moves through the worldwith a sense of confidence and grace. Her once reckless spirit now tempered by wisdom. Quietly, yet firmly, she speaks her truth without doubt or hesitation and the life she leads is of her own creation. She now understands what it means to live and let live. How much to ask for herself and how much to give. She has a strong, yet generous heart and the inner beauty she emanates truly sets her apart. Like the mythical Phoenix, she has risen from the ashes and soared to a new plane of existence, unfettered by the things that once that posed such resistance. Her senses now heightened, she sees everything so clearly. She hears the wind rustling through the trees; beckoning her to live the dreams she holds so dearly. She feels the softness of her hands and muses at the strength that they possess. Her needs and desires she has learned to express. She has tasted the bitter and savored the sweet fruits of life, overcome adversity and pushed past heartache and strife. And the one thing she never understood, she now knows to be true, it all begins and ends with you.

  4. CHALLENGES IN THE SECTOR • Property rights and ownership and patriarchal based industries have created the most significant entry barrier to ownership as a first step to access to the property market for women. • The property industry had always been a male preserve • The property market is an asset market – and assets come at a price. • The attitudes of financial institutions towards women as economic participants; • The lack of access to informed information and business development support • The lack of property specific education fundamentals and the hesitance of experienced players to transfer skills • The lack of suitable financial products for women • Support from experienced women to other women in the industry.

  5. OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES LESSONS FROM MY CHILDHOOD: Excellence Preparation Confidence Branding your product – business & personal Attention to detail

  6. OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES LESSONS FROM MY CAREER: Excellence Preparation Add value Branding your product – business & personal Mentorship Your career will be determined largely by how well you speak, by how well you write, and by the quality of your ideas... in that order.

  7. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW *AN INSIDERS VIEW* • Many women and non participants in the property sector consider the sector to only relate to residential property market. • There is an inadequate focus on the multiple disciplines that contribute and support the property sector • There is a lack of exposure to the fundamentals of the property market. • Property is thought to be a quick gains market where extensive wealth can be created in a short pace of time • Property is still an old boys club • There are educational opportunities in the property market • There is a current shortage of skills • There is a lack of formidable mentors willing to grow individuals and interest in the property market due to the lack of avenues to do so properly and in conducive environments
