3. Why does CTE want to improve Data Quality? Research Reasons Good research practice requires data be verified to assure:
conformance to operational definitions
reported values are accurate
clean data improves the quality of the information and reduces errors
Local systems receive statewide and local data analysis in a more timely manner for program improvement planning

4. What is Tennessee’s strategy to improve data quality? Since December, FY2003, the CTE staff conducted data quality reviews to develop strategies to improve data quality
