1. Volunteerism in Caraga
3. Caraga’s milestones on Volunteerism Facilitated the assessment of nominees for the Volunteers for Information and Development Assistance (VIDA) who were deployed to the LGUs, RLAs and SUCs.
Prepared project assessment reports and endorsement to PNVSCA for Request for Volunteers submitted by LGUs, RLAs and SUCs
Participated in the conduct of monitoring and validation of VIDAs deployed in the region
Facilitated the conduct of:
- the Search for the Most Outstanding School Project Undertaken
Through Volunteerism (1999)
- the Search for Best Volunteer Practice (2000 & 2001)
- the annual Search for Outstanding Volunteers and nominated regional winners (2002 – 2007)
4. Caraga’s milestones on Volunteerism Produced two national volunteer awardees:
- Ruel Hipulan of Save Mindanao Foundation, Inc.
- Father Pio Eugenio of Agusan Ecotech Foundation, Inc.
Recognized the contribution of outstanding volunteers in the region:
1999: Don Jose Ecleo Memorial College of Science & Technology, Dinagat, Surigao del Norte
2001: David Nusz, Surigao City Agriculture Office
2002: Renosa V. Lapera, Bislig City
Initial arrangements discussed with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) during its Mission to Caraga in July, for direct assistance by NEDA 13 in receiving, review and referral of requests for Korea Oversees Volunteer (KOV)
For our region, we have produced two outstanding volunteers. They are: Mr. Ruel Hipulan of Save Mindanao Foundation who was awarded in 2003 for the individual category and Father Pio Eugenio of Eco-Tech Foundation in 2004 in the same category.
Last July, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) mentioned interest to help Caraga in the improvement of water supply system in Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Sur. As an offshoot to this, they committed to provide one KOV to work in Barangay Saguma, Bayugan City. NEDA Caraga was asked to provide the necessary arrangements and in processing requests for KOVs in the region.

Taught them how to live a healthy lifestyle, preventive health, nutrition and the importance of cleanliness;
Provided medical assistance to IPs
Helped them understand the importance of environmental preservation and wildlife conservation;
Helped the government improve the lives and dwellings of slum communities;
Capacitated the IPs on alternative health medicines;
Trained students in Information and Technology;
Conducted Faculty Development Program for Science Instructors;
Trained men in upgrading of welding and fabrication technology;
Funded the project on Water, Sanitation and Waste Management;
Initiated the Youth Development Program
Established the Bethany Home – to assist women survivors of violence
