Supporting Options Choices • Where can pupils get information? • From the ‘options’ booklet listing all subjects and elements of each course. • Additional information can be gained from subject teachers and Guidance teachers. • Our careers advisor Carole Millar is available every Tuesday lunchtime for our drop-in careers clinic.
Supporting Options Choices • S2 Learner Pathways Process • Careers and choices lessons in L2L and PSE • Class discussions with PSE/L2L teacher (usually pupils own guidance teacher) • Individual interviews in PSE/L2L time • Pupils can request additional meeting if required. • Pupils then take home form to discuss and agree final choices

New National Courses Design Schools and colleges will mark and assess the new National 1,2,3 and 4 courses National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher will involve as additional assessment-question paper or coursework marked by SQA Assessments will be appropriate to subject and level SQA is working with schools and colleges to ensure all assessments continue to meet national standards
How will they be graded? Courses at National 2,3 and 4 will not be graded. They will be assessed as pass or fail Courses at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher will be graded A to D or ‘No Award’ If you fail a Course assessment you will receive credit for the Units you have achieved SQA are preparing sample question papers and other resources
