  8. Problems with Space Navigation • All objects in space move in their own orbits • It is not about covering distance, but about changing speeds • Using traditional methods, Space Flight is either very slow, or very very expensive • Fortunately, we have: Jumpgates

  9. Jumpgates • Provide instantaneous transportation between two points is space • Do not require a spaceship to spend energy • When exiting a jumpgate, a spaceship will have the orbital velocity of that jumpgate • Jumpgate orbit the Sun at various distances; these orbits are called Rings.

  10. Problems with Jumpgate 1 • Points must lie on a line deviating less than 9,42 degreesfrom the greatest gravitational vector. It is possible to travel between rings, but not within rings. • Jumpgate links are not fixed. Mostly, a jumpgate links to the nearest jumpgate up or down the biggest gravitational vector. Sometimes, they do not …

  11. Problems with Jumpgates 2 • Jumpgates can not be too close too each other, as the gravitational radiation will interfere with their functioning or will cause them to collide • Jumpgates can not be too close to large masses (like asteroids or planets) for the same reason.

  12. Problems with Jumpgates 3 • Orbits of jumpgates have chaotic perturbations due to ill understood gravitational radiation leakage effects; orbital positions can not be exactly calculated • No reflection of any radiation; almost invisible to any sensor system

  13. Problems with Jumpgates 4 • Using a jumpgate in a certain gravitational direction builds up gravitational radiation, that blocks it for use in the opposite direction for a certain time. • Jumpgates are unstable. Buildup of gravitational radiation is chaotic, and can lead to unpredictable implosions ...

  14. Problem with Jumpgates 5 • So you think 4 sheets with problems is not enough ? • Brush up on your math and meet Prof. dr. Isaak Oldton, Phd., Dphil, Msc., MA., the leading expert on jumpgate theory • That is, if you manage to distract his attention from his equations for long enough to listen to your question …
