Human activity is responsible for cattle ranching. • Types of Livestock: According to the different domesticated species, they are classified as: SheepPigs Goats Cattle and horses: horses and mares. Cattle: cows, bulls and steers.

  3. Environmental enrichment • Environmental enrichment is taking care of animals in captivity to see how they behave and develop in an attitude similar to free life. Being in captivity they become sedentary as they do not have to hunt and survive and this makes the animals behave abnormally.

  4. ANIMAL MALFORMATIONS A calf born with two heads 20th September 2007 , a calf was born with two heads inBolivia (South America) A vet from the area alerted the owner the colt was going to die due to malformations. A foal with two heads September2007, a foal was born in Argentina with two heads, two noses and four eyes, It did not survive long after its birth. The animal had a normal body, despite having a shorter tail than normal. A lamb with seven legs August 2007, New Zealand, a farmer saw a lamb with seven legs, the lamb was using only five of the seven legs and two legs hanging from the rear. The lamb was the result of an error during the formation of the embryo, This only happens once each million.

  5. EXPLOITATION OF COWS • The cows are exploited for their meat, milk and their fur. The aim of this operation will depend on their race. In the case of calves, they are killed for their meat, regardless their race which they belong to, except those calves races "milk" which are intended to produce milk and baby calves. The cows, bulls and calves of any race, as a whole are known as "cattle." According to INE data 2001, the so-called "cattle" in Spain totalled 6,411,000 individuals. Of these, 1,182,000 were exploited for their milk and the rest were calves, bulls and cows used for meat. The total number of animals killed in 2001 was 2,550,000, a number similar to the human population of Castilla y Leon community.

  6. EXPLOITATION OF PIGS • Pigs are exploited for their meat and, are considered and treated as a food resource. Due to the nature of pigs and their exploitation , Spain has reached the highest level of industrialization and intensification of all animals.

  7. EXPLOITATION OF CHICKENS • Chicken life is short, twenty-one days of ten years who may live, they are fatten for human beings consumption, then they are taken their head, legs or wings without any care and are thrown into boxes to be transported to the factory where they will be killed by a machine that reduces the number of workers.

  8. EXPLOITATION OF SHEEP • The meat industry of sheep and lambs were divided according to an official report: a) intensive system: It is by definition a system in which the animals are kept at all times within the farm, without going outside to the fields. b) extensive: Animals live almost all the year abroad, there they eat from the fields. It has a great economic advantage in both the infrastructure and the food, the cost is minimized greatly. c) semi System: It is a combination of both. It is the most widely used nowadays, because it enables better work in the birth quarters . As in the case of intensive, it is necessary to enable the facilities to accommodate the animals, particularly when there are overcrowded because it is birth´s time.
