  2. APNIC training - background • Training is an important and fundamental member service • Training helps • develop better capabilities • improve knowledge and understanding • adopt BCPs in internet operational technologies • eLearning will help more members access this service

Why APNIC eLearning? • Remote Access Survey, Dec. 2005 • 86% of respondents supported development of eLearning • Only 31% had attended an on-line course • Making training more widely accessible – across time zones and geographic boundaries • Complementing face-to-face training • On-line pre-requisite module frees up face-to-face training sessions • Trainers can dedicate more time to more advanced and practical skills training • The creation of simulations where technologies are not available for training

What is currently available? • Two modules • Using eLearning - learn how to: • register • enrol • navigate • ISP Address Request – learn how to: • use the new form • prepare your IPv4 address application • seek help with your application • Feedback • All feedback will be used to guide future module development

  6. Who is eLearning for? • Member organisations and other interested people • New staff of member organisations • Anyone wishing to update or refresh their knowledge of: • internet operational technologies • APNIC procedures and policies

What to expect in the future? • eLearning will be integrated into our training environment as we develop our blended learning approach • A variety of blended learning techniques incorporating: • Community forums • Webcasting • Electronic training modules • Simulations used in face-to-face training
