CP English 9 / Geography & World Cultures • A Pre-AP course designed for students seeking a rigorous course of study designed to prepare them for a strong Advanced Placement program • Builds critical thinking skills while developing the work habits and work ethic necessary for success in future AP courses • Humanities based approach integrating English and cultural themes • A year long rotating block

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) • A college-readiness system designed for students in the “academic middle” • Desire support to develop college-readiness skills and prepare for four-year university admission • Writing & reading skills are developed along with collaboration, organization, note-taking skills, time management, goal setting & team building • AVID 9 is a year-long course. Please write it in twice as an elective.
