NATAL FOR SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA Saving lives in sub-Saharan africa
INTRODUCTION Every year over 6 million children under the age of 5 years and thousands of pregnant women and mothers die in sub-Saharan Africa due to some major factors like poor health facilities, Poverty ,infectious diseases, traditional believes and lack of necessary health care information
SOLUTION • Natal for Sub-Saharan Africa is aimed at reducing this rate by solving the problem of poverty and lack of proper health care information. • HOW? • Building a health care call and SMS Service System that pregnant women and mothers can interact with using their mobile phones. these service will be built to translate English to different local languages.
This medium will help pregnant women and mothers: 1.Register for pre-antenatal and Post-antenatal Care service from their homes. 2.Know which hospital is closer to them. 3.Get weekly Call and SMS updates on how to take care of their pregnancy or baby (from age 0 -5 years). 4.Notify them the dangers of not adhering to medical guidance. 5.Study the health of the child from age 0 -5 years. 6.Create a mobile wallet for the mother and child where NGO can donate directly into their accounts. Connect them with doctors. 8.Help the government to know when, where and what Health care facility is needed in these areas. This will also give the locations of these patients to Polio vaccination agents.
CREATING AWARENESS • TELEVISION PROGRAMMES • RADIO STATIONS • SMS ALERTS • PARTNERSHIP WITH HEALTH CARE INSTITUTION ETC.
