Interreg 2000-2006 in Emilia- Romagna • 135 Interreg projects • 1140 partnership with 44 countries • more than 100 partners from third countries – strong involvement of countries from balkan-danubian area • 172 partners from NMS • involvement of bodies at all the level of the public administration and other stakeholder • projects of strategic value for the regional strategies’ development • relevant management capabilities acquired with Interreg

The future: general framework • Interreg becomes Territorial Co-operation • Priorities are focused on Lisbon and Goteborg Agendas • Cross borderco-operation strengthened • Transnational as well as interregional co-operation driven towards more strategic projects and tangible results • EU 10 to participate fully in the new objective programmes (structures, procedures, project partners) • IPA for further enlargement (Rumania, Bulgaria, Croatia) • ENPI to facilitate cooperation at new external borders

TC • participating in drafting team SEE and IPA programme At organisational level • reinforcing the actual structure involved in Interreg 2000-2006 • renewed agreement with Ervet on the TC objective At project level • starting to create networks and defining projects • taking views of current promoters into account • regional-scale launch events/seminars aimed at public bodies to inform an the on-going process • reducing duplication – promote useful synergies • developing logical progression from outcomes and impacts of Interreg III
