High Treason Against God • Introduction • Lesson 35
Your heart is a powerful muscle slightly larger than a clenched fist. It is composed of four chambers, two upper (the atria) and two lower (the ventricles). It works as a pump to send oxygen-rich blood through all the parts of the body. A human heart beats an average of 100,000 times per day. In that time, it pumps more than 4,300 gallons of blood throughout the entire body. The human body has about 5.6 liters (6 quarts) of blood, all of which circulates through the body three times every minute.
What is in blood? Water, acetone, amino acids, vitamins, minerals such as calcium, carbon dioxide, cholesterol, coagulation factors, steroids, DNA, hormones, fat, sugars (glucose, fructose), hemoglobin, antibodies, insulin, blood cells, oxygen, nitrogen, platelets, proteins, RNA, triglcerides, to name a few
ONLY BE SURE THAT THOU EAT NOT THE BLOOD: FOR THE BLOOD IS THE LIFE; AND THOU MAYEST NOT EAT THE LIFE WITH THE FLESH. (DEUTERONOMY 12:23)
WHAT IS treason? THE OFFENSE OF ATTEMPTING BY OVERT ACTS TO OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT TO WHICH THE OFFENDER OWES ALLEGIANCE
THE WHOLE WICKED WORLD STAND ARRAIGNED AT THE BAR OF GOD, ON THE CHARGE OF high treason AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT OF HEAVEN. THEY HAVE NONE TO PLEAD THEIR CAUSE; THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE; AND THE SENTENCE OF ETERNAL DEATH IS PRONOUNCED AGAINST THEM. (The Great Controversy, P. 668)
SHOULD THE VOICE OF THE HIGHEST HUMAN AUTHORITY ANNOUNCE AN AMENDMENT OR AN ADDITION TO THE LAW OF GOD IN ANY HUMAN LEGISLATURE, SUCH AN ANNOUNCEMENT WOULD BE registered on the books of heaven as treason. IT WOULD BE PLACED ON THE SAME LIST AS THE PRESUMPTUOUS CLAIMS OF THE FIRST GREAT REBEL WHO WAS CAST OUT FROM HEAVEN. (The Review & Herald, MARCH 26, 1895 PAR. 4)
WHEN THE RELIGION OF CHRIST IS MOST HELD IN CONTEMPT, WHEN HIS LAW IS MOST DESPISED, THEN SHOULD OUR ZEAL BE THE WARMEST AND OUR COURAGE AND FIRMNESS THE MOST UNFLINCHING. TO STAND IN DEFENSE OF TRUTH AND RIGHTEOUSNESS WHEN THE MAJORITY FORSAKE US, TO FIGHT THE BATTLES OF THE LORD WHEN CHAMPIONS ARE FEW--THIS WILL BE OUR TEST. AT THIS TIME WE MUST GATHER WARMTH FROM THE COLDNESS OF OTHERS, COURAGE FROM THEIR COWARDICE, AND LOYALTY FROM THEIR treason. (Testimonies for the Church, VOL. 5, P. 136)
