Project Opportunity Checklist • Attend two meetings • Complete the blue application • FAFSA Student Aid Form (SAR) • Parent Income Tax Return for 2015 • Sign Release of Information Form • SAT or ACT Test Scores • TSI Placement Test • Photograph • Drug Test Results • Thank you note to Board of Directors
FAFSA Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov on January 1, 2016 to complete FAFSA. • Obtain a pin number for parents and students • Report parent’s 2015 income information (W-2’s) • Turn in the FAFSA Summary page • Use TAFSA if parents are not US citizens
ACT and SAT • ACT minimum composite score of 18 (test by February 6) • SAT minimum score of 1000 (test by March 5) • May retake tests to raise scores • Results back by May 2 • Weatherford High School code is 447 395 • Fee waivers available for students on Free or Reduced Lunch
TSI Placement Test • Gives information about student readiness for college classes • Offered at WHS Oct. 6, 13, and 20th and at Weatherford College • No charge for Project Opportunity students • Weatherford College Testing Office (817/598-6383) for appointment • Lasts approximately 4 hours
Drug Test • Drug test at Weatherford Regional Hospital in April • No charge • Results sent to the high school • If under 18, parent/guardian must accompany student • Must be taken during designated one week period
Weatherford College Admission • Fill out online application at applytexas.org • Take the TSI • Exempt from TSI: • SAT scores of 500 minimum on both verbal and math, with a total of at least 1070; • ACT scores with a minimum of 19 on the English and Math, and a Composite score of at least 23; or • TSI Math score of at least 350; or • TSI Reading score of at least 351; or • TSI Writing score of 4 if the score is at least 363; or • TSI Writing score of 5 if the score is below 363.
Project Opportunity Luncheon • Luncheon held in May for students who have turned in all documents • Take a bus to the college • Males must wear slacks and collared shirt • Females must wear slacks, skirts, or dresses • No jeans or t-shirts
Things to Do Soon • Fill out blue application and turn in with your cell phone number (tonight) • Sign the Release of Information form and turn in (tonight) • Sign up for TSI at WHS (Mrs. Shifflett) • Sign up for Remind 101 • Register for SAT or ACT
