Motivation • - Research literature acknowledges the relationship between the study of biological systems and the study of social and technological systems. • Advances in computer-based IS have contributed to research of biological systems (e.g. Bioinformatics). • The relationship between the two offers more valuable insights? • BUT: little attention paid to how insights from research of biological systems can inform organizational IS research.
