Transformed Pinch Pots BEHS Ceramics One
Pot 1: Just a pot • Pot 2: Same pot with a foot or feet • Pot 3: Texture, details, a transition pot • Pot 4: Something completely different, not a pot anymore. Now a dynamic sculpture.
Smooth progression with shape/form. • What could the artist do to create a smooth transition between each pot?
Unity with Glaze Used the same colors in each of the same areas of the pots However, could have chosen a variety of colors, or more contrasting colors to show more of a difference between the bird and the nest.
Contrast: to exhibit unlikeness or differences between two things. (black & white) • Nice contrast with the branch and the nest, and the egg and the nest. • However, poor contrast between the bird and the nest. (can’t tell which is which)
Unity: Same green colors on the rim of the pots. The black feet are the same on each one too. The dots on the rim of pots 1&2 become the dots on the scarf. Pot 3 needs green somewhere. • Pot1 needs black marks to represent what will become the feet
