Vocabulary • Kiln: An oven used for firing clay projects • Greenware: Unfired clay projects • Bone Dry: Completely air dried clay • Bisque: Clay which has been fired once, without glaze • Fire: To heat clay in a kiln • Glaze: Paint used to color clay projects. • Glaze turns to glass when fired in a kiln.

  6. Pinch Pot • Process: • ball of clay • thumbs are pushed into the center • the walls (1/2 cm) are created by pinching and turning the pot • push the ball on the table to make a flat surface • etch designs in the pot, etches your initials in the bottom
