What is a Class Leader? • They are sub-pastors • Appointed by the Pastor in charge • They should be a mature Christian • Well versed in the AME Discipline and Holy Scriptures
Purpose of the Class • A class is formed to discern whether its members are indeed working out their own salvation and to receive what they contribute to the support of the Gospel.
Structure of the Class • One person will be assigned as class leader from each class • Class leaders are appointed annually by the Pastor • They serve for one year and can be re-appointed annually • They are examined quarterly by the Pastor and the Presiding Elder
Duties of the Class Leader • Meet the members • Read rule of Band Societies • Visit other classes • Converse with Pastor • Watch over probationers • Report to Official Board

Fellowship • Quarterly Group Meetings with Refreshments • Allows whole class to meet • Encourages camaraderie • Share what God is doing in their lives
Potential Class Leaders • It is vital to have a self-perpetuating system • It is the duty of current class leaders to recommend new class leaders • Recommendations are given to the Pastor
