summary The setting of The Great Kapok Tree is in the Rainforest the rainforest is a big place it has about 200 animals in the Rainforest. The animals in The Great Kapok Tree are a Jagaur, Ant eater, monkey, snake, and a Sloth. The main characters in story was the man and the Kapok tree. And the problem in the story was that the man was trying to cut down the tree and the animals were persauding him not to cut it down the tree so he didn’t cut it down . I rate this book 100 out of 100 Kapok trees.
Text-to-Text I made a text-to-text connection when I read the book The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry and The Salamander Room by Anne Mazer. The same animals were in each of the stories and they both had trees. And in both stories all of the characters cared about the wildlife. And when they mostly focused on one thing in the stories like in The Salamander Room they were mostly focusing on the salamander. And in The Great Kapok Tree they were mostly focusing on the Kapok tree. And in The Salamander Room there were birds living in the trees and I bet there were birds living in the Kapok tree. And in The Great Kapok Tree took place in the Rainforest and The Salamander Room took place at the boys room. These are my connections.
Text-to -Self I made a text-to-self connection when I read the book The Great Kapok Tree. In the story there was a Boen constrictor and in my friends backyard there once was a Gardner snake. So me and my friend were walking through my friends backyard and suddenly a snake appeard. It was just slithering across the yard we just possed and stood there for a second .It looked like I was about to fant it looked a little bit weird so we stopedpossing and we just looked at it. And we just stood there and stared at it until it passed. Then when it passed we just took a big breath in because it looked like it looked like we were not breathing. That is my connection.
Text-to-world I made a text-to-world connection when I read the book The Great Kapok Tree should not cut down the trees in the rainforest because trees give us oxigen and it gives us carbindioxide. It also gives animals homes and food also plants and animals make up the rainforest. If all the rainforest were destroyed all of the carbin dioxide would be released to the atmisphere.
