Journalism & Democracy • 1st Amendment: • Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

  4. Journalism & Democracy • Questions: • Does the media have a social responsibility to inform the public so it can make political choices? • Does all media have a responsibility to present the facts and sort through the rhetoric?
