About Me • Originally from Chesterfield • Attended Crenshaw until 3rd grade and graduated from Manchester High School • Graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B. A. in psychology and linguistics • Graduated from William and Mary with my Master’s in elementary education • Taught for 6 years at J. A. Chalkley Elementary in CCPS (2nd and 3rd grades) • Live in Midlothian with my husband, John, and dog, Chip

Homework • Need: Take Home Homework Folder, agenda, and Word Study notebook • Current science/SS study guides will be in Take Home folder to study • Dreambox • 30-60 minutes assigned every night, except Fridays • Read 20 minutes EVERY night
Dreambox Learning Math • rigorous math curriculum students access online that adapts to meet each student’s educational needs • fun and engaging environment while targeting areas that students need to work on to strengthen their math skills • play once a week at school for 45 minutes • expected to complete DreamBox for homework two nights per week, for twenty minutes each night.
Parent Dreambox Tips • log in to my.ccpsnet.net with user name and password • Click on “My Backpack” then DreamBox • focus on completing new lessons (gold coin lessons) • allow your child to work through lessons on their own--mistakes are OK to make in DreamBox! Wrong answers help the program to find the best lessons for your child. • Have your child complete each lesson he or she begins at home. • Your child is able to access the arcade to play additional games and buy items on the weekends only.
Homework Helpful Hints • Have a calm, clean work area (desk, kitchen table, bedroom, living room with TV off) • Check Take Home Homework Folder and agenda daily. • Talk to your child about his or her homework.

Thursday Folders • Every Thursday • Review all papers • Sign and return only those that say “Parent Signature” (D or F) • Review front checklist and sign • Sign and return folders on Friday
