International Joint Projects with UNICEF: • 1990-2008 Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) • Raised awareness and $100 million of support • Increased use of iodized salt from 20% to 70% of global families, preventing IDD • One of the greatest public health triumphs in the 20th century • 2012 Start to Eliminate Maternal Neonatal Tetanus Globally • One baby dies every 9 minutes • Immunization for mom also prevents tetanus in child • Our focus on Young Children Priority One • Goal is to raise $110 million

History • Birth of Club: April 12, 1974 • Sponsored by another Kiwanis Club • Initially met at a Pizza Hut for breakfast • In Division 99 of TX-OK Kiwanis District

Enjoy Membership in Our Club • Please consider this opportunity for service • Monthly Dues: $40 (includes meals) • Read over “Join the Club” • Complete application back page • Return application with your new member fee $88.50 • Complete your CBI form and attach it to your application • If your organization is paying your fee, please read the handout on the Corporate membership process • Your sponsor will help you find your area for service • Your application will be reviewed and approved by our board • You will be inducted as a member at a future meeting • We will provide you a new member orientation and discuss committees for service.
