  1. Invisibility Cloaks They’re for more than just sneaking around Hogwarts.

  2. Scientists created metamaterials that trick waves into thinking they have special properties.

  3. Metamaterials are structured materials that are created by scientists altering their geometry, not the atoms that make up the substance.

  4. Created from taking 1 cm2 of silk and adding 10,000 gold spiral resonators.

  5. The current design is invisible to waves in the Terahertz wavelength.

  6. Silk is the first biocompatible metamaterial.

  7. This new technology has the potential to be of great use in the medical industry
