  14. Gardai/Army/Fas • 3rd language needed for Cadets in Army /Air Corps • NOT needed for entry to Gardai & Fas • Irish NOT needed for Gardai – but must have a pass in 2 languages out of English,Irish,3rd language

  15. ART & MUSIC • Art portfolios needed for entry to most Art colleges , also some Architecture courses (not UCC) • V.useful subject for design & multimedia courses • Music not needed for entry per se, but entrance tests apply in related courses

  16. Woodwork & Tech. Graphics • Useful for Construction, Design, Architecture courses,but not essential for entry • Woodwork – Construction Studies for LC • Tech Graphics – Design Communications for LC

  17. Accountancy & Business • Useful subjects for Business related degrees,but not essential for entry. • Difficult to take up L.Cert Accountancy without having done Business for the J.Cert

  18. Technology • 1st exam in 2009 • Computing, Project work • Useful for careers in I.T. , engineering
