  2. For this session council tax means the money that is paid for the council – what it is used for and how much? Council Spending means where does this money get spent? This term we are going to check our progress slightly differently! You are going to be learning about how to live in the culture outside of school!   3. Activity 1: What is council tax… Last week you decided on a dream house. When buying a dream house you have to pay something called council tax…. The amount depends on your house size. For the house here in Herne Bay the people living in it would have to pay around £1500 a year in council tax. What do you think this is spent on? Create a mind map to show your ideas.
