  2. SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • ESY - Cluster Sites • Purpose – serve students who need additional instruction to maintain achievement of IEP goals • 3rd Grade Reading Camps - Cluster Sites • Purpose – provide additional reading instruction and option for Good Cause Exemption

SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • 9th & 10th Grade Credit Make-up – all high schools except Edgewood and Westshore • Purposes • Provide opportunity to make up course credit for students who failed a course in English/Language Arts or Mathematics so students may be promoted • Students needing remediation for FCAT retakes • Retrieval of multiple credits • Computer-based/credit retrieval software – program

SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • 9th – 10th Grade Credit Make-Up • June 1 – June 17 (12 student days*) • *(Fridays – June 11 and June 18 are not included.) • May 28, June 1-17, June 21 (14 teacher days*) • 6 hr. student day/7 hr. teacher day • Student Times: • Period 1: 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. • Period 2: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. • For 11th-12th Grade students 16 or older - Adult Education available

SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • 6th-8th Grade Course Recovery • Purpose – provide opportunity to make up a course for • students who failed a course in English/Language Arts, • Mathematics, Science and/or Social Studies • Computer-based instruction - teacher of record is FLVS teacher • Possibility for student to recover more than one failed course - promotion decisions at completion of course or segment

  7. SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • 6th-8th Grade Course Recovery • May 26 – June 29 (21 student days) • 6 hour student/7 hour teacher day • Schedule: • Title I schools - 8:45-2:45 • Non-Title I schools -7:30-1:30

  9. SOAR(CTE)Credit Courses • Computing for College and Careers- 1 Credit • Grades 9-12 (Jr./Sr. Preference) • Dates: May 26–June 30 • Locations: 6 - TBD • Culinary Arts II- 1 Credit • Grades 9-12 (Jr./Sr. Preference) • Dates: May 26–June 30 • Locations: Palm Bay, Melbourne, Titusville

SOARCTE – 1 Credit Internships • National Academy Foundation (NAF) • Grade: 12 Dates: May 26 - June 30 (150 Hrs.) • Finance: Viera & Melbourne • Hospitality: Merritt Island, Rockledge • Locations: Internship Sites • Automotive Youth Excellence Services (AYES) • Grade: 12 Dates: May 26 - June 30 (150 Hrs.) • Location: Titusville

  11. SOARNon-Credit Fee-Based Programs • Driver Education Program (Non-Credit) Grades: 9-12 Dates: June 2 – 15 Hours/Day: 5 hours for 10 days Locations: Bayside, Melbourne, Merritt Island, Satellite, Viera Cost: $120/student • Others developed at school sites

SOAR • Jump Start • Goal: Provide a summer learning institute at elementary and Title I middle and high schools to give current primary-aged and incoming 7th and 9th grade students a “jump” on the upcoming year’s curriculum. Jump Start will allow target students to enter school better prepared for success in the upcoming school year.
