SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • 9th & 10th Grade Credit Make-up – all high schools except Edgewood and Westshore • Purposes • Provide opportunity to make up course credit for students who failed a course in English/Language Arts or Mathematics so students may be promoted • Students needing remediation for FCAT retakes • Retrieval of multiple credits • Computer-based/credit retrieval software – program
SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • 9th – 10th Grade Credit Make-Up • June 1 – June 17 (12 student days*) • *(Fridays – June 11 and June 18 are not included.) • May 28, June 1-17, June 21 (14 teacher days*) • 6 hr. student day/7 hr. teacher day • Student Times: • Period 1: 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. • Period 2: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. • For 11th-12th Grade students 16 or older - Adult Education available
SOAR • End-of-Year Remediation • 6th-8th Grade Course Recovery • Purpose – provide opportunity to make up a course for • students who failed a course in English/Language Arts, • Mathematics, Science and/or Social Studies • Computer-based instruction - teacher of record is FLVS teacher • Possibility for student to recover more than one failed course - promotion decisions at completion of course or segment

SOAR • Jump Start • Goal: Provide a summer learning institute at elementary and Title I middle and high schools to give current primary-aged and incoming 7th and 9th grade students a “jump” on the upcoming year’s curriculum. Jump Start will allow target students to enter school better prepared for success in the upcoming school year.
