Time scales going/ proposed scheldule • Event dates – • Team racing August 12th August • Worlds August ends 25th August • Loading containers Saturday 23rd June , • Ship sails 27th June • Ship arrives at San Francisco 28th July, • Arrive yacht club 6th August
Other event points • Event Insurance levels- $1,000,000 any one event ! • Entry fee $750 – late penalty $250 after July 15th 2018 • Team racing $450 per team ( paid by the association)
Outline Current Boat position • 18 provisional yes • 2 others 50% chance, 1 X 40% • Not yet generally promoted so there may be others who would like to attend. • UK members only • Maximum is 9 boats per container but if we have 2 containers we can do 20 boats • 4+4 plus One or two in roof • We have done 11 in a container but not with all masts.
Over 19 boats • That’s a problem! • But we might get in 20 boats • Options • Discuss with German fleet if extra space • Possible offer to organise a third container for German fleet ( we effectively did that last time to Australia).
Pricing • Based on 18 boats is £1,355 per boat • FX on dollar is calculated at $1.30 but if $1.20 add £100 per boat • Per boat variation is plus and minus approx £100 • Shipping Quotes not fixed until January • Full account will not be known until boats returned and closing invoice in from P&M after our return.
Loading • 2 person per boat to load. Endless excuses – find an alternative • Need to bring your own packing • Possible problems with masts at 19 – wires must come off rigs, if insufficient space for 2 masts, guarantee for only one • Trolleys – cradles must come off . Please make sure they do before we arrive. • Individual packing list, list of additional equipment, confirmation of your boat value. ( budgeted on £15,000 per boat). • Boats have to be loaded within 2 hrs others a premium is charged • It is advised that all rudder cassettes are removed to shorten the boat and the poles are within the length of the boat. IE do not protrude at the bow. • The normal method of 8 boats on their racks will be adopted
Rules • Import Bond • What goes must come back • No inflammable goods • No items that are not declared • Bikes can go only if there is room • You will need to fill in list of your “stuff” , sails, foils , tool kits etc
Volunteers • Packing manager required • Volunteers to head up container team loading, 1 leader per container • Volunteer to organise and deliver materials, Wood screws, Ratchet straps, bubblepack , 2 x step ladders, packing tape, cardboard, old carpets, ropes • Power tools x 2 and lights • Container leader to have responsibility for final lock down, photo to container no’s and locks

Timetable of money • November 2017 Pay £500 non returnable deposit to Int 14 class association • January update costing and final price advised subject to FX variation and no of boats • January 31st Balancing payment £855 • Any shortfall due to anyone falling out post deposit will require a pro-rata top up • Final account will not be know until our return
Liability • You agree the organisers and the class association have no liability for damage to your boat and equipment. • The association and its officers cannot in any way be responsible for the timelessness of the arrival in Richmond or the return to the UK. • The association reserve the right to reject any one who hasn’t paid in full by the deadline • This offer does not guarantee you a place
