  4. Why our program??? • Only graduate program dedicated to transportation management • Senior/executive staff retiring in record numbers • More than 50% of the state transportation agency workforce eligible to retire within ten years • Affordable and convenient

Three Program Offerings Master of Science (MSTM) • Total of 10 classes to earn degree • 6 core classes, 3 electives • Culminating Capstone Course Graduate Certificate (CTM) • Total of 4 of the 6 classes to earn certificate • 4 core classes, or 3 core classes and 1 elective Transportation Security Certificate (CTS) • 2 security classes, 2 core classes

  9. Continuing $tudent Performance Awards Awards given in recognition of academic performance and to financially motivate students who intend to complete the program in an accelerated manner. Affordability: Key incentive MasterStudentsEligible to receive a $1,000 award up to four times during the MSTM program. Certificate Students Eligible to receive a $500 award up to two times during the CTM program.

  10. Distance Learning Classes are delivered by two way video-conferencing using the latest technologies in streaming and web casting Programs are available at SJSU and 12 Caltrans District Offices and over the World Wide Web

  11. Master of Science in Transportation Management MSTM Requirements - Degree from an accredited college/university -3.0 GPA -500 GMAT -TOEFL (if undergraduate degree program was in a language other than English)

  12. Certificates in Transportation Management & Security CTM / CTS For students not ready to pursue the master’s program, but who are committed to furthering their transportation careers Requirements -Degree from an accredited college or university -No minimum GPA -No GMAT

Accelerated Format • Earn your Master of Science in a little over two years, concurrent with full-time employment • Take one course at a time, one night per week for each 10 class sessions • Classes are offered twice in the Fall Session and twice in the Spring Session. Summer electives are to be determined

  14. Frequently Asked Questions Should I send my transcripts? Sending unofficial transcripts can accelerate the application process, however, proof of your undergraduate degree is needed. Can the GRE or LSAT be substituted for the GMAT? No Do I have to take the GMAT if I already have a Master’s Degree? Yes

  15. Can I transfer graduate units from another institution into the CTM or MSTM? CTM, no. Can I transfer units from the CTM into the MSTM? Yes. Nine units may be transferred from the CTM into the MSTM provided all MSTM admissions requirements met. Do I need to establish financial need or have an A average to qualify for fellowships? No.
