Why are we here? • Childhood physical inactivity, obesity and adult chronic disease is an epidemic. • Recreation facilities are “key community settings” and can influence behaviour of people in the community. • Offering healthy choices is a chance to make a difference in the health and well-being of your community. Healthy Choice Facility challenge • Try a 100% healthy concession day or event. • Re-evaluate your fundraising -- do an activity other than a bake sale. • Change your vending machines to mostly healthy choices. • Eliminate sugary beverages like pop from vending and concessions. • Offer healthy choices at meetings.
