THE ZOOKEEPERS History of Como Zoo • In 1873 – St. Paul acquired 300 acres of land around Como lake that would one day become Como park and zoo! • Como zoo today is home to over 37 “species survival plan” animals that are at risk of endangerment or extinction. • the zoo features mammals from around the globe along with a variety of fish, birds, reptiles and exotic plants. Como zoo has also hosts a small theme park with countless activities for families and visitors of all ages!
