  1. Tremor is a movement disorder that is often confused with Parkinson’s disease. While Parkinson’s also involves tremors as a symptom, the two are very different. Both these ailments involve involuntary muscle movements that may cause the patient to feel uncomfortable, disturbed, helpless, and embarrassed in public. While these ailments cannotbelife-threatening,unlesstheyreachalaterstagewherethepatientisbedriddenor goes into depression, they are definitely like-altering. Both these ailments affect a person’s mental, emotional, and physical quality of life. This is why these patients require to be treatedwithcare, compassion, andunderstanding. A research has shown that the dysfunctional transmissions that travel along the tremor pathway appear to begin in the cerebellum of the brain. Thus, the levels of two proteins LINGO1 and LINGO2, that were associated with tremor, were evaluated in human brains. 16 healthy people, 10 patients suffering from Parkinson’s, and 9 patients suffering from tremor were tested. What was found was that LINGO1 levels were twice as high in people sufferingfromtremor, whiletherewasnodifferenceintheselevelsinthebrainsofpeople suffering from Parkinson’s. LINGO1 is responsible for what the brain normally does to refresh or repair itself (known as neuroregeneration); thus interfering with the brain’s abilitytoregeneratebyslowingitdown. Patients suffering from tremor have been recommended certain drugs and therapies since decades that are not a permanent cure, but they definitely keep the symptoms under control. And,thisresearchbringshopethattheresultsofthisstudycouldopenupdoorsto

  2. new treatment options, which could positively be permanent ones! It is possible that understanding the action of LINGO1 could have positive outcomes in tremor cases. However, such researches require enormous time, patience, and money. It takes quite a whileforresearch, trial, experimenting, andapproval ofnewmedications. So,whilewecan pray for better options to come up, we know that we still have a list of medications and therapiestocontroltremorsymptoms.
