Athens June 2011 EMPOWERMENT TOOL: PRELIMINARY DATA ANALYSIS
Preliminary Testing of Validity and Reliability of the Tool based on a sample of Beneficiaries • Complement to Focus Group Activity • Key Questions about the Findings: • Could the Distributions of Scores concur be Anticipated – If not, Do They Make Sense? • How can the differences be explained between: • Member states; • Genders; • Age groups; • Those of differing economic status. • How do the Findings compare with those from Other Tools (Rickter Scale?)
Tentative Conclusions • Cautions: • Different Political, Economic & Contexts; • Consistency of Application; • Subsamples of different size - UKni 50% of Sample; • The Gender Puzzle; • Different Timeline for Beneficiaries. • But: • Useful Research Data; • Possible Evaluation Tool – though Projects Adapt; • Comparable to Recognised Tool (Rickter Scale).
